Greece’s capital is known above all for its ancient past. When you think of Athens, the Acropolis, immediately comes to mind – and indeed this former citadel is the city’s most famous landmark.
Thanks to its approximately 7,500-year-old history, Athens has a lot to offer in terms of history – but the Greek capital also likes to show its modern side and offers much more than just ancient art and culture. Cult districts, wonderful parks and a lively restaurant and bar scene – there is a lot to explore.
