My destination is the Canary Islands. I am spending my holidays in the 5-star resort “Sheraton Fuerteventura Beach, Golf & Spa” on Fuerteventura.
The taxi ride from the international airport to Caleta de Fuste, where this beautiful and luxurious resort is located, takes only 10 minutes. Already at the reception it becomes clear: Service is very important here. Even the smallest room in this complex is about 50 m². There are no rooms without balcony or terrace. Most of the rooms impress with a view to the Atlantic Ocean. I can recommend the Junior Suites: They are even more spacious and have a jacuzzi in the bathroom.
Activities
Without doubt, the centre of the resort is the huge pool complex with a total of four different swimming pools. Including a children’s pool, it leaves nothing to be desired. The spaciousness of this area eliminates the usual “battle for the sun lounger” – there is enough space at any time of day. If you are planning a family holiday, the Sheraton Fuerteventura Beach, Golf & Spa is the perfect place for children of all ages. While you enjoy the luxury, your little ones will spend their time in a separate area. From a children’s playground to soccer, tennis and basketball courts to a miniature golf course – everything is available. Of course, there is also a miniclub and, if desired, your own childcare facilities.
Culinary delights
Breakfast and dinner – I recommend half board – are available in buffet form. I was completely convinced by the very good quality and the large selection. This includes meat (freshly grilled every day), freshly caught fish, and lots of starters and desserts. Also, at breakfast no wishes remain open. Worth mentioning is the Mediterranean ambience, because: Dining is on a beautiful terrace, directly next to a small river. If you prefer food á la carte, you can order it in two restaurants within the resort. Other amenities include an 18-hole golf course, an exclusive spa area with a heavenly saltwater pool, and a car rental service. You should definitely plan trips. My tips: the Oasis Park and the dunes of Corralejo.
Around
The beach promenade is just a few steps away from the 5* resort. It leads on one side to the village Caleta de Fuste and on the other side to a small but nice shopping centre. Practically this is only a five minutes walk away. Right in front of the promenade there is a fine sandy, very wide beach and a protected lagoon. This is ideal for bathing for small children, as there are no high waves. The beach section itself is public, umbrellas and sun beds can be rented for a small fee.
Conclusion
I can recommend this resort without reservation – both as an adult and family holiday. The varied offer and the extremely high feel-good factor make this beautiful resort something special. In addition: In the Sheraton Fuerteventura Beach, Golf & Spa Resort, one spends a luxurious holiday at a very good price-performance ratio. A combination that is not often found nowadays.
